Creative Industries Clusters Programme

From screen industries and digital storytelling to fashion and videogames, some of the UK’s best performing and world renowned creative businesses are receiving a major boost thanks to the £80 million Creative Industries Clusters Programme, which is being funded by the Industrial Strategy and delivered by the Arts and Humanities Research Council on behalf of UKRI.

The Creative Industries Clusters Programme comprises nine Research and Development (R&D) partnerships, among which is the Business of Fashion, Textiles and Technology (BFTT) Partnership, and an independent Policy and Evidence Centre led by Nesta with partners.

The programme brings together world-class research talent from across the UK in a first-of-its kind R&D investment. They will accelerate growth in a range of creative sectors and aim to create jobs and drive the creation of companies, products and experiences that can be marketed around the world, significantly contributing to UK economic growth both regionally and nationally.

Twelve months after its launch in October 2019, the Creative Industries Clusters Programme has grown significantly through the commitment of significant resources from industry partners in addition to our funding. The Story So Far contains highlights from each of the clusters showing how this unique investment is already transforming the prospects for our creative industries right across the UK.
