BFTT at Future Textiles 2023 Conference

BFTT’s Director, Prof. Jane Harris, Deputy Director, Prof. Kate Goldsworthy, and Co-I, Prof. Veronika Kapsali, joined the Future Textiles 2023 Conference as keynote speakers during the Sustainable Textiles Manufacturing and Circular Economy sessions.

The conference provides a forum for collaborative discussions to address academic and industry challenges, develop future clothing for the next generation, and facilitate the rapid transition of future textiles from lab to market.

Jane Harris presented, Back to the Future: The Value of Historical Archives, Design Methods and Processes Informing More Sustainable Material Futures, whereas Kate Goldsworthy presented Circular & Sustainable by Design. Other speakers included BFTT’s Co-I in Rethinking Material Resources, Veronika Kapsali; she explained the Lessons From Biology – What is the Textile Sector Missing?

All presentations focusing on new materials, digital manufacturing, and sustainability were hosted at University of the West England in Bristol.
